Well, people usually say that Wikipedia is not a reliable source, and on this thread here, I just saw VILLAIN_4_LIFE say that Wikipedia is lying. Like I was saying, if Yella himself said he was 25 in a 1989 interview, he would have been born in 1964 - the same year as The Arabian Prince (his Wikipedia page says he was born in '64, though his Wikipedia page could be wrong too). Not only would Yella have been 15 or 16 years old while forming World Class Wreckin' Cru in 1983, but he would have been either 20 or 21 when he produced the Straight Outta Compton and Eazy-Duz-It albums in 1988 (20/21 is a unique age to become a producer). Also, when he speaks on "2 Hard Mutha's", he kinda doesn't sound like a 20 or 21 year old man to me.
Well I'm gonna trust what DJ Yella has said more than any other internet source.
Wait how? In 1989 he was 25. And Straight Outta Compton came out in 1988, that makes him 23/24 when he produced it.

I guess that all makes sense. To me it's hard to imagine a 20/21 year old produce a record or become a DJ and do all this sampling stuff. And yeah, I'm with you on what Yella says more than any source.
A real muthaphukkin G that was born in 1989 - what a good year. It was a good year for rap/hip hop and even rock music. 1989 was when N.W.A. became popular and then Ice Cube left, Ronald Reagan left White House and George Bush took his place, Above the Law came to life and The D.O.C. released No One Can Do It Better before a car accident fucked up his voice.

My top 35 albums of 1989

Peace to dem niggaz, even you Eazy!

    i have to disagree
i mean it doesnt matter what he says ,eazy said he was born in 73 but its widely known he was born in 63..
as long as his birth certificate says he's born in 67 he was born in 67.
and its not that much of a surprise that he was a producer at the age of 20
    OP is a faggot
